Some of the best love stories are friends turned lovers, and that is exactly how it happened for Nate and Lauren.
They met through mutual friends at Western Michigan University in late 2017. Interest in each other burned slow and steady as they stayed friends, meanwhile growing closer and closer. Next thing they knew, they only had eyes for each other, madly in love, and December 27, 2019 Nate popped the question!
They often joke that they never really dated, but went from friends who enjoyed each other’s company right to engaged. Simply put: once you know, you know!
Fast forward to May 22, 2021, at R & R Event Center in Vicksburg, MI. The sun was shining and love was in the air as friends and family gathered, raised glasses (and Bud Light cans) to celebrate Nate and Lauren becoming one.
At the reception, the mood shifted from reserved romance to exuberant celebration. The groomsmen even prepared a perfectly rehearsed dance number to “I want it that way” by the Backstreet Boys to surprise the newlyweds (and everyone else) at the conclusion of the best man speech! The dance floor was flooded all evening, and the night was complete with Sweetwater donuts for all!
Nate and Lauren, thank you for inviting me to be a part of your story. Capturing the love between you, and the joy and support of your friends and family was something I won’t soon forget!
