I love working with all of my clients, but there is something extra special about capturing special memories for family! Last spring, my father in law reached out about planning a secret photoshoot during his proposal to Jenny in Downtown Detroit, which I of course said YES!
Last June, their proposal took place in Parker’s Alley (behind the Shinola Hotel) in Detroit, near a decorative gate where couples secure a lock to symbolize their commitment. Joe brought a lock and they secured it to the gate for the “love lock” tradition after Jenny said yes. Now this year, exactly one year later on June 5, I was able to photograph yet another beautiful memory for them – their wedding!
They had the most beautiful, intimate ceremony and during their wedding portraits, we walked back down to Parker’s Alley to see their lock and capture some reminiscent shots of the year before. It was so much fun to be a part of their special day and welcome Jenny as my step-mother-in-law!
