I am still swooning over Emily and Clayton’s ultra- romantic wedding at Revival Wedding Barn in Dowagiac, Michigan. Emily and I go wayyy back to middle school days. Growing up we attended the same church in Plainwell, the church that her dad pastors, and would spend many Sundays playing together after church. Emily’s older brother Jared was in my same grade in school and I’ll be photographing his wedding in October as well – so this is the summer full of Zimmer weddings!
Emily and Clayton shared a “first touch” before their ceremony which is a fun spin off of a “first look” that allows couples to talk, hold hands, or pray together before the ceremony without seeing each other. I’m a big fan of first looks (click here to read my recent post about why I love them so much), but if a first look isn’t for you, a first touch could be the perfect alternative.
Their personalities were sprinkled all through the day from the groomsmen sharing a cigar before the ceremony to the signature drinks offered at the reception. It was evident that their day was intentionally and beautifully planned and I am so thankful that I got to capture their special day!
